Baskar Pushparaj the visionary founder and CEO of Sports Line India, hails from a lineage deeply entrenched in the art of racket stringing. His grandfather served as a stringer for British tennis players, and his father continued the tradition, crafting a legacy of precision and expertise.

Though Baskar initially pursued aspirations of becoming an engineer, personal circumstances led him to embrace his family’s trade after the passing of his father. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his journey into the world of racket stringing and sports retail.

Starting as a stringer in local shops, Baskar faced significant challenges, often working in modest conditions. However, these experiences became the foundation of his expertise. His commitment to excellence in stringing techniques, deep understanding of materials, and ability to connect with players and coaches earned him a stellar reputation. His guiding philosophy—“Once you’re able to string well, your customer will not go to another shop”—proved instrumental in building lasting relationships with clients.

In 2000, leveraging his skills and industry connections, Baskar established Sports Line India on Queen’s Road, Bengaluru. What began as a single store quickly grew into one of South India’s most prominent racket retail brands. Unlike general sports retailers, Sports Line India carved its niche with an exclusive and comprehensive range of rackets, making it the go-to destination for players and enthusiasts alike.
