Getting started
We don’t have a specification. Can we still start?
Yes. Most projects start with a description of the problem. We turn it into a plan you can review before anything is built.
Do you only build custom software?
No. We also make our own products, like ParishOne, for organisations that want something ready to use. If a product fits, we’ll say so rather than build something new.
How do you price a project?
We price once we understand the problem. You get a written scope and estimate to review before any build work starts. Well-defined work can be fixed-price. Work that will evolve can be billed by time.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope, and we agree a timeline in the plan. Larger systems are built in stages, so you can use working versions early instead of waiting for one big launch.
Working together
Can you work with the tools we already use?
Yes. We connect systems through APIs and extend existing CRM and ERP tools, so you don’t have to start from scratch.
Who owns the software and the data?
Your data is always yours. For custom software, who owns the code is written into the agreement before work starts.
Who looks after it after launch?
We can host, monitor and support what we build, or hand it over to your own team. You decide.
Security and AI
How do you keep our systems and data secure?
Security is part of the build: SSL on every site, role-based access, and backups and monitoring on what we host. If you have compliance requirements, we go through them before we start.
Where does AI help, and where doesn’t it?
AI works well on repetitive, text-heavy work: searching documents, answering routine questions, sorting and summarising. It’s a poor fit where a simple rule or report will do, and we’ll tell you which one your problem needs.
Will our data be used to train AI models?
No. We tell you up front which AI services a solution uses and what data it sends to them, so you can decide.

Can we try ParishOne, and bring our existing records?
Yes. There’s a free trial at parishone.ikonits.com, and you can import existing records from spreadsheets using ready-made templates instead of retyping them.
Is each parish’s data kept separate?
Yes. Each parish has its own sign-in address and its own records, and no other parish can see them.
